How to Be Clever
I know you want to be clever. And if you are clever, your brain must be protected to stay clever. There is a way:
1. Eat brain food. Studies have shown that eating
(1) a handful of peanuts per day helps because it contains good oils that increase serotonin levels,
(2) fatty fish such as tilapia, sardines and salmon with omega-3 ,
(3) olive oil and avocado with omega-3, and
(4) dark chocolate with flavonoids that keep our roots young.
2. Always use the brain. Answer crossword puzzles and Sudoku. Play chess. Try to multiply or calculate by mind and stop using the calculator. Activate your brain.
3. Go online and search Google. There are reviews that show that surfing the internet is clever. Whether young or old, brain scans prove that using the internet enables our brain.
4. Avoid alcohol and vices. Drinking too much alcohol reduces brain cells. Your memory is weak. There is a disease called "alcoholic dementia." This means that the patient becomes addicted because his brain is soaked in alcohol. Also avoid smoking and staying awake.
5. Try to study even if you are having a hard time. Even if you do not fully understand your lesson, you will persevere. In English class, just read a book. In Mathematics, practice answering questions to become proficient. Eventually, you will be surprised and you will understand.
6. Dream or day dream. Yes, it is okay to daydream. If your dream is to become a pilot, a lawyer or a doctor, think about how it will come true. According to psychologists, when you always expect something, your brain and body will make it happen. All who succeed only begin with a dream.
7. Protect your head. Do not let your head bump or punch you. Wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle, playing sports or working. For adults, be careful when walking and you may fall and bump your head.
8. Take vitamin B complex with folic acid. According to a new study, taking vitamin B complex may slow down the development of Alzheimer’s disease and forgetfulness. Not only that, in pregnant women, you need to take vitamin B with folic acid so that your child does not have brain damage (neural tube disorder).
9. And last of all, monitor your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar. All of this must be normal for blood flow to your brain to stay healthy. If you feel anything, see your doctor.
