Body Swelling: Find Out If It Is Bad Or Not

Body Swelling: Find Out If It Is Bad Or Not

Do you have a lump in your body? Is it normal or bad?

Non-Dangerous “Tumors”:
1. “Belly bones” - You may be mistaken for normal bones in the body. A common case is the xiphoid process, which is the cartillage attached to the lower part of the rib. It is located in the upper abdomen. It is protruding but it is normal.

2. "Throat in the Throat" - For men, Adam's apple (throat area) is easy to feel because it is bigger than the man.

3. Lipoma or fat - Another common but harmless lump is lipoma. It is a movable, fatty and round flesh that can grow on different parts of the body. Lipoma is not cancer and does not need to be removed by surgery. Check with a surgeon to make sure.

Note:
Any lump should be examined by a surgeon. A lump in the neck may be a sign of a mouth infection, tuberculosis or other illness. If you feel any lump in the abdomen or other part of the body, see your doctor to be sure. Again, do not worry about it first because maybe it is benign.

Lastly, do not forget the regular check-up. Check-ups start at age 40. But if your family has a history of heart disease, diabetes or cancer, you can still have a check-up for at least 40 years. Stay fit and healthy.
