Urinary tract infection or UTI: Did you know that…

1. One in four public school students has trouble urinating or has a urinary tract infection.

2. Honeymoon Cystitis is the presence of a urinary tract infection that occurs after the first intercourse.

3. A simple UTI can climb the kidneys and damage it. It can cause kidney failure that requires dialysis.

4. Women are more likely to have a UTI because their urinary tract is short, unlike men.

5. Drink 2 glasses of water every four hours for healthy kidneys. About 8 to 12 glasses per day. But also do not exceed sixteen glasses a day.

6. After sexual intercourse, force urination and also clean the vagina to prevent infection.

Be careful because many people have kidney disease
1. Nephrotic syndrome is a disease in which a person releases protein into the patient's kidneys and can irritate the feet and face.

2. If you have kidney disease, beware of high-protein diets such as Southbeach and Atkin’s diet as this will make the kidneys work harder.

3. About 2,000 Filipinos a year need dialysis. Half of them have no money to start dialysis.

4. Dialysis is one of the most expensive treatments. It costs up to 3 thousand pesos per dialysis and costs 36,000 pesos per month

5. At the National Kidney Institute, 200 patients are waiting for a kidney transplant. The kidney transplant costs 1.5 million pesos for a private patient and 500,000 pesos for a charity case.

How to take care of kidneys?
1. Do not take pain relievers every day because it can damage the kidneys.

2. Avoid salty foods and sauces, as they are harmful to the kidneys. Reduce eating soy, fish sauce, anchovies, almonds and dried.

3. Also avoid eating junk foods and gossip that is high in vetsin.

4. If you like Instant Noodles, reduce the salt (seasoning) that is added to it. Just put half of it so that our kidneys do not suffer.

5. Remember, drink 8 to 12 glasses of water a day to keep our body clean. When healthy, our kidneys need water.
