Intelligent Food for the Brain
There are foods that can possibly help keep our brain healthy. When you eat enough vitamins and nutrition, your mind and memory will be sharper than people who do not eat it.
Let's find out about these so-called "brain foods":
1. Peanuts - Peanuts contain vitamin E and good fats. According to the test, the higher your vitamin E level in your body, the sharper your mind will be. Peanuts also help with memory. Stewed peanuts, cashews and walnuts can be eaten. Just don’t choose fried peanuts with a lot of salt. Also limit your intake of nuts to only a handful (30 grams) as it is also high in calories.
2. Fatty fish (oily fish) - Oily fish are tuna, tilapia, salmon, sardines, tamban and bangus fat. It contains omega-3 fatty acids that improve blood flow. As a result, the chances of developing stroke and heart attack are reduced. Try to eat 4 ounces of fish three times a week.
3. Eggs - Eggs are high in choline, a chemical that children need to develop their brain and memory. Eggs are also high in vitamin A, iron and folate. The child can be fed 1 egg per day. But if you have heart disease or high cholesterol, limit your egg intake to 3 eggs per week.
4. Coffee - Coffee can help prevent Alzheimer’s disease and our mental retardation. Coffee contains antioxidants and caffeine. Coffee also helps to memorize what you are learning but the effect is only temporary. You can drink 1 or 2 cups of coffee a day. Also, do not overdo it and your heart may beat faster. And I hope you don't add whip cream and full cream milk to the coffee to keep it from getting fat.
5. Avocado - Avocado is rich in B vitamins and healthy fats (monounsaturated fats) that improve blood flow to the brain. There are animal tests that show that avocado reduces stroke and lowers blood pressure.
Apart from these foods, we must also have a healthy lifestyle to take care of our brain. Get enough sleep and avoid alcohol and cigarettes.
