Possible Signs of Cancer

 Possible Signs of Cancer

Here are 9 possible signs of cancer:

1. Constipation or urination - The doctor needs to check if the patient has intestinal, kidney or bladder problems. If your stool or urine is stained with blood, see a surgeon.

2. Non-healing wounds - If the wound is in the foot, it may be due to diabetes. But there are wounds for a different reason. Consult a doctor.

3. Unusual bleeding - Frequent bleeding from the nose or from the vagina should be examined. It is possible that the patient has a lump in the nose or uterus.

4. Breast tumors or other parts of the body - The main cancer in women is breast cancer. Learn to have a breast exam every month (self breast examination), especially if you have a relative with breast cancer. If you have a lump, see a surgeon.

5. Difficulty swallowing - It is possible that there is goiter or a blockage in the throat. If you have difficulty swallowing food, check with an ENT or Ear Nose Throat specialist.

6. Mole changes - Melanoma is a type of skin cancer. Its color is dark. If your mole changes shape, whether it looks enlarged or widened, see a dermatologist.

7. Frequent coughing - Many people cough because of smoking and air pollution. But a cough can have other causes. Perform a Chest X-ray to examine the lungs. It can tell if there is tuberculosis or a lump in the lungs.

8. Pale or anemia - Anemic patients are often menstruating or malnourished. But it is also possible with blood cancer or leukemia. Make a Complete Blood Count or CBC.

9. Losing weight for no reason - This is what happened to President Cory Aquino. He lost weight before being diagnosed with colon cancer. If you have lost 5 kilos or 10 pounds without a diet, see an internist or family medicine doctor.

I just want to make it clear that these signs do not mean that the patient has cancer. Do not worry first. Consult a doctor to find out if you are sick or not.
