Anemia: Lack of Blood Volume

Anemia: Lack of Blood Volume

Do you sometimes feel tired? Did anyone say you are pale? Are you pregnant or over the age of 60? If so, have your blood checked for anemia.

Anemia is a common condition in which the body lacks red blood cells. We know that red blood carries oxygen throughout the body.

Often, anemia is called iron-deficiency anemia or IDA. The two main reasons for this are the lack of nutrition from food and the presence of any bleeding in the body.

Human Problem:

According to the DOST and FNRI Seventh National Nutrition Survey in 2008, iron-deficiency anemia affects 4 out of every 10 pregnant women in the country. For infants from 6 months to 1 year, 56% also have anemia. In children aged 1 to 12 years, there is also 20% anemic. When it comes to those aged 60 and over, 3 out of every 10 senior citizens are anemic.

What are its complications? For pregnant women, the birth of a baby can be premature or premature. For children with anemia, they can be short, thin, painful and difficult to study.

Symptoms and Treatment:

When there is only a slight lack of blood, there are probably no symptoms. But if your hemoglobin count drops rapidly or your hemoglobin is less than 10 mg / dL you will feel better. Common symptoms of anemia are weakness, dizziness when standing up, shortness of breath and palpitations.

To find out if you have anemia, get a CBC (complete blood count) to see the level of hemoglobin and hematocrit in the blood.

The good news about anemia is that it can be easily treated:

1. Eat foods high in iron. In meats, iron is high in beef liver, beef, pork and chicken. Those who eat less meat can also get iron in green vegetables such as spinach, horseradish, spinach, beans, peas, and peeled potatoes. There are breads and cereals with extra iron.

2. Also eat foods high in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps in absorbing iron in the body. Fruits such as oranges, oranges, pineapples and grapefruit are rich in vitamin C.

3. You can also take Iron tablets such as ferrous sulfate tablets and multivitamins with iron. Do this for a month and your hemoglobin will definitely increase in the blood. Note: If there is any bleeding in the body, consult a doctor.
