Long Life Tips
There are common health tips such as avoiding smoking, living a healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly, and eating right. But there are other ways to be healthier.
1. Be careful.
The cautious person has a long life, according to the Terman life-Cycle Study report. Caution is a skill of being organized and disciplined in what you do. Careful people may be more aware of their health needs. Choose healthier foods. One study also showed that careless children die prematurely. One lesson is to teach our children to care for their health.
2. Imagine you are young.
When you think you are old, you will feel that you are old. But if you think you are young then your body will follow. Keep yourself open to new challenges and opportunities no matter what age.
Be aware of the news. Learn new technologies instead of avoiding them. Interact with those younger than you to infuse their energy. Eat enough, do not smoke, and help the community.
3. Keep an active mind.
Let's use our brain or else it will weaken. Therefore, do not retire immediately. Consider going back to school even when you are older. Keep doing what you want to do.
According to a study at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, people who are consistently active in reading, learning and solving puzzles are nearly 50% less likely to suffer from Alzheimers' disease.
4. Stay lean.
Aside from being overweight it is clear that one of the risk factors for obesity is heart disease, diabetes and arthritis.
A 2006 study by the National Institute of Health showed that weight gain was connected to shorter lifespan. So be happy if you are skinny.
