Premenstrual Syndrome Symptoms


If you regularly experience physical and emotional symptoms before your period, you may have premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Symptoms tend to recur.

PMS is related to the normal hormone cycle. Often, the symptoms disappear as menstruation begins.


Causes of premenstrual syndrome:

1. Cyclic changes in hormones


2. Chemical changes in the brain can cause symptoms.


3. Depression and stress


4. Spending hunger. Some of the symptoms of PMS are connected to low levels of vitamins and minerals. Eating salty foods and drinking alcohol or coffee can exacerbate symptoms.


Symptoms of premenstrual syndrome:


Emotional Change:

1. Sad mood and crying

2. Irritable or angry

3. Tension and anxiety

4. Changing mood

5. Loss of concentration

6. Depression

7. Changes in appetite

8. Difficulty sleeping

9. Do not associate with people


Physical Change:

1. Abdominal enlargement

2. Weight gain due to retention fluid

3. Swelling of the hands and feet

4. Breast pain

5. Headache

6. Joint and muscle pain

7. Diarrhea and constipation

8. Tiredness, nausea and vomiting
