Simple ways to avoid Stress
Here are some relaxation techniques to avoid stress:
1. Meditate. A few minutes of meditation will help to eliminate anxiety. It's simple to do, just sit properly, close your eyes while saying something positive to yourself like "I'm okay" or "I'm calm".
2. Take a deep breath. Take a five minute break and take a deep breath. Sit up straight and breathe slowly. Stomach enlargement should be felt while breathing. Breathe inwards through the nose and out through the mouth. It helps to lower heart rate and blood pressure.
3. Ask for help. Your family and your friend can help to solve life's stress. Talk to them in person or even on the phone. Share your problems.
4. Decompress. Apply a warm heat wrap around your neck and shoulders for ten minutes. Close your eyes and relax your face, neck, chest and back. Remove the heat wrap and use a tennis ball or foam roller to massage your muscles.
5. Laugh. Laughter helps to reduce stress. It lowers cortisol, a stress hormone, in our body and increases endorphins which help us to be happy. Watch a favorite sitcom, movie, read a comic or book or talk to someone who makes you happy.
6. Listen to music. Music helps to lower blood pressure, heart rate and anxiety. Nature sounds like the ocean, streams, birds singing or soothing music help to relax a person.
7. Exercise. All kinds of exercise help the body release happy hormones. Simple walking or running helps to combat stress and anxiety.
8. Pray and give thanks. You can write a diary and journal before going to bed or waking up in the morning to remember all the good things that happened to you the other day. Pray to the Lord because He loves you and is willing to listen to your problems
