Nightmare Syndrome: How to Avoid It?

Nightmare Syndrome: How to Avoid It?

First of all, nightmares in Nightmare syndrome are different. The nightmare is that you dream badly. Nightmare syndrome is a disease that can cause a sudden onset of heart attack while sleeping, Brugada syndrome or irregular heartbeat that can lead to death and acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis.

Acute pancreatitis is the inflammation of our pancreas. The job of the pancreas is to produce juices to digest what we eat. In one day, the pancreas produces about 8 glasses of pancreatic juice.

There are two causes of acute pancreatitis:

(1) overeating and

(2) excessive alcohol consumption. When we eat too much, our pancreas will have difficulty.

According to experts, nightmare syndrome may be inherited because it is more common in Asian men. Maybe men also drink more alcohol.

The symptom of Acute pancreatitis is severe abdominal pain, which affects our back. If you feel this way, go to the hospital immediately.

How to prevent Acute pancreatitis?

1. Eat 5-6 times a day but only slightly. This schedule can help with the slow digestion of what we eat. For diabetics, your blood sugar will not rise too much. For a snack, it can be just a banana or an apple. For dinner, you can have only half a cup of rice, broth, and a dish. You will not get fat here because you eat very little.

2. Walk 20 minutes after eating. Do not sleep immediately! When you eat too much and suddenly fall asleep, your pancreas may get angry. He will say, "Just eat food, then you will not help me digest food." You may have nightmare syndrome.

3. When drinking alcohol, put food on your stomach first and drink water. Alcohol is bad when the stomach is empty. It can damage our liver and pancreas.

In fact, it is better to avoid alcohol as well. Water is the best drink for our health.

Emphysema and COPD: How to Avoid

Emphysema and COPD: How to Avoid

COPD is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases. COPD is better known as Emphysema. It is estimated that up to 13% of Filipinos have COPD.

With COPD or emphysema there is narrowing of the tubes in our lungs. This causes coughing and sputum. These tubes are damaged due to:

(1) smoking,

(2) inhalation of cigarette smoke,

(3) inhalation of burning or burning smoke,

(4) and air pollution.

What are The Symptoms of Emphysema?

1. Stage 1: Cough - At first it was just coughing. This is called smoker’s cough.

2. Stage 2: Cough and Sputum - In the long run a sputum comes out along with a cough. This is because the lining of the tube in our lungs is damaged.

3. Stage 3: Cough, Sputum and Breath - When you feel short of normal activity such as climbing 2 floors, it is serious. It is quite difficult to treat and needs to be taken to the doctor or hospital.

4. Stage 4: Cough, Sputum, Shortness of breath and Chirping. When there is chirping (like a cat in the lungs), COPD is severe and needs to be taken to the hospital. Often the patient will need oxygen even at home. Let us not procrastinate in this situation.

What Is The Solution?

The solution to COPD is simple: Stop smoking. Also consult a doctor to get the right inhaler for the lungs. These inhalers are helpful but the best prevention really is to quit smoking.

How to Quit Smoking:

1. Will - The person must have a "will" or want to quit smoking. If he has no intention of quitting, it will be difficult to force him. Let's just say the bad effects of smoking.

2. Quit Date - When there is a "will" or courage, set a Quit Date. This is a date when the patient will stop smoking. This is very important. When the Quit Date is near, prepare the patient by letting his or her family and friends know. Family support is needed to be successful. Remove ashtrays and cigarette packs from your home. Also stay away from your friends who smoke to avoid temptation.

3. Cold turkey or gradual reduction - Two ways to quit smoking. It can be a sudden stop (cold turkey) or slow down. It is in this patient. There is also a "medicine" that can help stop.

Consult your doctor to help you with your good intentions to quit smoking.

Nose Hair Removal, Possible Brain Infection

Nose Hair Removal, Possible Brain Infection

Many do not know that there is a "danger triangle" on our face. This is the area from the nose to the mouth where any infection in it is possible to enter our brain. This rarely happens but it is still possible.

So do not spray the pimple on the face and also do not pull the hair on the nose because it is possible to become infected. It is medically called "Cavernous Sinus Thrombosis" a deadly brain infection.

Often does not look good when the hair on the nose is too long. But nasal hair is especially important in filtering dirt in the air when we breathe. And there is an important reason why you should not pull it out.

Many germs live in our nose. When you pull out its hair, there will be a space where germs can enter and cause infection in your body.

Because the nose is in the "danger triangle", it is possible for germs to enter your brain and cause infection there. This is because the nerves coming from the nose have communication with the nerves coming from the brain.

When the germs get into the brain it can cause meningitis or brain abscess or inflammation of the brain.

So, just make it a habit to trim or cut the hair on the nose that has been cut off. Do not pull it out so that there is no wound or open area where germs can enter.

My article today is based on research and letter by Ourlad Tantengco

Trigger Finger: Painful Fingers what is the remedy

Trigger Finger: Painful Fingers what is the remedy

Trigger finger cases can range from mild to severe. For mild cases, these tips may be enough to cure it:

1. Rest your hand for a month. It can help improve your mood. Reduce hand usage in texting and typing. Do not carry heavy objects by hand. Try using the other hand.

2. Avoid repeated compressions. Excessive grip can exacerbate a trigger finger. Avoid using a vibrator.

3. Do not continue to sound or gnaw because it can make the inflammation worse.

4. Try soaking your hands in lukewarm water. It can help reduce pain and vomiting.

5. Place your hand higher than your chest (heart level). Doing it often can help reduce inflammation by reducing fluid accumulation in the affected area. You can sleep with your hand resting on a pillow.

6. Protect your affected finger and hand. Since the tendon and sheath that move your finger are already swollen, avoid further damage by accidentally hitting the hand due to the hard object.

7. At night, you can wear a glove (to protect it from the cold) and rest your hand on a pillow.

Treatment of Severe Conditions: Your doctor may try these options.

1. Steroid injection - Doctors can inject steroids near the base of the affected finger to reduce inflammation. This injection is more effective if given within a week or two at the onset of symptoms.

2. Trigger finger removal surgery - For difficult cases that have not been treated with the steps mentioned, it can be operated on to remove the trigger finger.

If you experience this condition, consult your orthopedic surgeon or hand surgeon in advance. They are the best approach to help you.
